- 1 small watermelon hollowed-out
- ¼–½ cup baking soda
- 1 tsp dish soap
- Food coloring optional
- ~1 cup vinegar
Cut a small round opening at the top of a watermelon and scoop out the insides. Place the hollowed-out watermelon in a sensory bin or on a large dish.
Add ¼ to ½ cup of baking soda directly into the watermelon.
Add about 1 teaspoon of dish soap.
Add several drops of food coloring.
Pour in approximately 1 cup of vinegar and watch the foamy eruption bubble up and overflow!
Repeat the eruption by adding more baking soda and vinegar as many times as you like.
