Hello!

I’m so glad you’re here.

Once upon a time, I was juggling life as a scientist—living deep in the world of medical devices by day and raising three wild, wonderful kiddos by night. I had always loved the structure and logic of science, but motherhood introduced me to a whole new kind of adventure. One filled with noise, chaos, love, and discovery.

Every day, I showed up for both roles: the scientist and the mom. But when my son was diagnosed with autism, our world shifted. He needed more from me, more presence, more patience, more understanding. So I made the decision to step away from my career and become a full-time stay-at-home mom to support him in the ways he needed most.

One day, I stumbled into the world of sensory play. What started as a way to help my son regulate and engage turned into something magical. But it wasn’t just helping him, it was captivating all of my kids. The laughter, the focus, the calm. It clicked.

Because of that, I dove deep into learning about sensory play. I researched, experimented, got messy, and started building bins that brought joy, calm, and creativity into our home.

Because of that, I created Raising Wild Things Sensory—a space to share what I’ve learned and to support other parents, caregivers, educators, and therapists who want to bring the magic of sensory play into their own worlds.

Until finally, this blog became more than a creative outlet. It became a community. A place where sensory play is easy, fun, and accessible. Where you’re not just handed a bin of kinetic sand. You’re given tools, ideas, and confidence to engage your kids in a meaningful way.

At Raising Wild Things Sensory, we believe in the power of play to connect, calm, and inspire. That’s why our blog is packed with playful ideas, DIY sensory fillers (including ones that are safe enough to taste), and inspiration to help you make the most of every messy, magical moment.

Thank you for being here. I’m so glad you found us and I can’t wait to be part of your sensory play journey!
